Gary R. Pittman, PE
President | Principal

Mr. Pittman possesses over 40 years of experience in the design and construction of a multitude of facilities in the public and private sectors.

He establishes procedures to insure a high quality product and is ultimately responsible for quality control throughout the firm. Mr. Pittman has established a reputation for managing projects to completion within budget and on schedule and earning the trust of his clients.

Daniel Vodzak, RA
Regional Director | Project Manager | Principal

Mr. Vodzak is an award-winning architect and planner, with a long list of successfully completed projects for federal, state, and county agencies. His projects include major new public buildings, LEED certified structures and task order work for IDIQ contracts. Mr. Vodzak works very carefully to establish and maintain effective project oversight, quality control and management for his clients.

His credentials over the past 29 years include design of over $500M in completed facilities, including state judicial centers and office buildings, courthouses, college and university buildings, and laboratories.
Mr. Vodzak’s ‘hands-on’ approach for management and design has achieved an impressive record of design excellence combined with on-time and on-budget projects through his close working relationships with his clients and their contractors. Mr. Vodzak’s clients appreciate his clear focus and expansive understanding of a great many aspects of project planning, management, building systems and construction.

Roland Meinhardt MBA, CMA
  COO | Controller | Principal

Mr. Meinhardt joined VITETTA in 1993 and has served as the firm's Controller and CFO since that time.  In 2015, he also assumed the position of COO.  He is responsible for the overall administration of all departments within the firm in addition to all services provided by the firm, including the unique projects produced by the Historic Preservation Program.

Nan R. Gutterman, FAIA, FAPT
Project Manager | Senior Preservation Architect | Associate

Ms. Gutterman joined VITETTA in 1988 following a distinguished career that includes the restoration of the Main Building at Ellis Island, NY.  She has extensive international training in the UK and Italy [ICCROM], and is on the forefront of building pathology, conservation science and complex exterior building envelopes that involve a variety of materials, as well as large decorative / sculptural programs such as her extensive and innovative work at Philadelphia City Hall.

Her portfolio includes some of the most iconic sites in the Philadelphia region, including the Reading Terminal Train Shed, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Academy of Music, the Rodin Museum, Drexel Univeristy Main Building, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Nationally, her work includes the National Gallery of Art, DC; the Cleveland Museum of Art, OH; Duke Farms, NJ; Arlington National Cemetery, VA; the DC War Memorial, DC; the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Restoration, VA; and the Grant Memorial, DC.

Joe Sorrentino, RA, PP, NCARB
Chief Preservation Architect | Associate

Mr. Sorrentino is a veteran of the firm, having joined VITETTA in 1969. Mr. Sorrentino has been part of nearly all of the historic preservation projects since the studio was created by preservation architect Hyman Myers. Mr. Sorrentino is highly regarded by our many repeat clients for his technical proficiency and extraordinary attention to detail with the benefit of ingenuity and craftmanship in the balance. He has served for over four decades as the consulting architect for the many important preservation projects of the Capitol Preservation Committee and Department of General Services for the historic Pennsylvania Capitol complex.
Mr. Sorrentino was the lead architect for the painstaking restoration of the Black Mansion in Hammonton, NJ and an extensive array of projects for the National Gallery of Art, DC over the span of four decades. His work at the National Gallery includes the 16th and 17th Century Galleries, the French Galleries and the comprehensive skylight replacement.

Albert M. Comly, Jr., AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, CFPS
Senior Architect

Mr. Comly has over 45 years of experience in all phases of architectural planning, design, documentation and construction administration. His experience on institutional projects as project manager includes federal, state, county youth and adult correctional/ detention facilities, including specialized facilities for reception, diagnostic and forensic units. His project experience also includes justice centers and courthouses, as well as libraries, fire stations and other government buildings. Additionally, Mr. Comly’s project experience has involved historic preservation and structures of historic significance.

Mr. Comly is responsible for quality control and code compliance of all projects in the firm. He has served with the AIA National Building Performance, and Regulation Committee, the AIA National Disaster Assistance Committee (participating author in the 4th edition of the AIA Disaster Assistance Handbook) and the National Fire Protection Association’s Executive Committee of Architects/Engineers and Building Officials. This includes authoring chapters on site planning and design within the National Fire Protection Association Handbook. In addition to code review for VITETTA, he also serves as the fire marshal for Lower Gwynedd Township, PA reviewing all new construction projects in the township for fire code compliance as well as cause and origin investigation of all fire related incidents.

Christopher Dardis, RA
Project Design Architect

Mr. Dardis is the Design Architect in VITETTA’s Lemoyne Regional Office and has 27 years of architectural experience. Chris is directly responsible for the architectural design process from concept development and program through construction documentation.
Mr. Dardis works closely with VITETTA’s project managers and clients during project kickoff to aid in determining the scope of work, project budget, and project schedule. His involvement later in the project may include developing program guidelines, developing cost estimates, writing specifications, creating construction drawings, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and coordinating with building contractors.
Mr. Dardis has an extensive background in the analysis, programming, and design of new buildings, as well as building renovations, having participated in a wide range of projects for both private and public clients. His projects have ranged from small building improvements projects to $60-million institutional projects.

JoAnn Jolin, RA, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Chief Project Architect | Sustainability Specialist

Ms. Jolin has more than thirty years of architectural design and construction administration experience with VITETTA. As a Project Architect, her responsibilities include programming, master planning, feasibility studies, conceptual development, design development, contract documents (drawings and technical specifications), and construction administration. Ms. Jolin works closely with VITETTA’s project managers and clients to determine the overall scope of work, project budget, and project schedule and assists in supervising the technical staff assigned to each project. She also oversees the Lemoyne office’s computer systems and provides in-house personnel training. Ms. Jolin is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design & Construction and assists with the evaluation and implementation of sustainable design methods for our building designs. She has participated in several sustainable design projects, with project responsibilities including sustainability research, concept development, interdisciplinary coordination, and the implementation of sustainable design strategies and technologies into construction documentation. She has diverse design experience in the public sector, including hospitality facilities, offices, laboratories, academic and support facilities for universities, courts facilities, and correctional facilities.

Robert Close
Architectural Project Coordinator/Detailer

Mr. Close has over thirty years of architectural experience. Through the years, he has served as Architectural Project Coordinator on a wide range of facility types, including courthouses, government offices, correctional facilities, K-12 educational facilities, and higher education buildings. Rob’s specialty includes the development of wall sections and details, especially for building envelope upgrades and roof replacement projects.
Although Mr. Close’s primary function is preparing design drawings, design development drawings, and contract drawings, he often provides assistance with programming, conceptual design drawings, cost estimating, and construction administration services, including the review of shop drawings. He also interfaces with clients and coordinates with contractors in support of the Project Manager and Project Architect.

Cynthia Kraynik
Administrative Assistant | Office Manager - Media

Ms. Kraynik joined VITETTA in 2009 as Secretary in our Historic Preservation program.  Since then she has worked with all Program Directors and Project Managers throughout the firm.  She is currently Administrative Assistant to VITETTA’s President and Controller/COO and Office Manager in our Media, PA office.

Sharon Hindermyer
Project Administrator | Office Manager - Lemoyne

Ms. Hindermyer joined VITETTA in 1996. She is currently the Office Manager in our Harrisburg Regional (Lemoyne) Office where she also serves as Project Administrator and Administrative Assistant to VITETTA’s Regional Director. In addition to her responsibilities in our Lemoyne office, Ms. Hindermyer serves in the Accounting Department under the direction of VITETTA’s Controller/COO.
